Holding Onto The Handrail Or Console

When first using a treadmill, most beginners have the tendency to hold on to the handrails for stability. This is fine for the first 2-3 sessions, but it’s an incorrect way to walk or run on the long term.

Holding on to the handrails doesn’t allow runners to move the arms in a natural way and develop a strong stride.

This mistake reflects in a wrong walking posture and decreases workout efficiency.

Look at professional athletes running. Now imagine these athletes running in the park without moving their hands.

I’m sure you agree they’d look strange and unnatural.

Learn to run correctly even if this means moving at a slower speed for a certain period of time. By exercising correctly you will do a better training session, even if speed is slower.
