We’ve had some problems with one of the TRUE fitness treadmills we reviewed recently. The speed wasn’t listed accurately and we needed some help to get it fixed. We had done a treadmill reset and some default settings did not seem to correspond to our machine.

Normally, we’d contact the manufacturer asking for advice. In this case, we found our answer on the Runner’s World forum. It helped us so we’re sharing that tip in case you want to give it a try too.

The downside is that the to access these hidden settings we’re about to describe, you’re not following the manual.

If you’re not sure how you can use them, better call professional help. We know it takes a lot of time to get something fixed. But it’s better to wait if you’re not a tech geek.

• Check your treadmill’s roller diameter in the specs.
• Turn on the treadmill and remove the safety key.
• Insert the safety key back while you press Start and Stop buttons.
• Scroll through the menu until you see ‘roll test’ and press the Start button.
• You should get a number that represents the roller diameter.  If it doesn’t correspond to the roller diameter your treadmill has, edit it and save the settings. (Use ‘Enter’ button to save).
• Remove and reinsert the safety key.
