Horizon Adventure 5 Treadmill

Overview

UPDATE: In late 2017 the Horizon Adventure 5 was replaced by the brand new Elite T5 model.

The Adventure 5 is a mid-range treadmill from Horizon. An advanced version of the lower-priced Adventure 3, the treadmill has a longer running track, larger display, and more built-in workout programs. It also features the unique three-zone variable cushioning system and interactive technology like Passport and ViaFit.

Specifications

Speed up to 12 mph

Pros

Longer Track

The Adventure 5, as expected, has a longer running track than the Adventure 3. The 20″ x 60″ track is ideal for runners and taller people.

Large Number of Built-in Workout Programs

The treadmill has a nice array of preloaded training programs, which are divided into different categories like distance, step, calorie burning, and interval training. That’s a good amount of workouts.

ViaFit Connectivity

One of the highlights of Horizon treadmills, ViaFit makes it extremely easy for you to track your fitness progress.

All you need is a ViaFit account to get started. Once set up, your ViaFit account acts as a central hub where you can access all your fitness data any time you want. Every time you work out, your workout stats are recorded and uploaded to your account automatically.

The best part about ViaFit is that it is compatible with a number of other fitness tracking apps and devices. If you already use an app or device to track your fitness progress, you can simply sync it with your ViaFit account and access your workout stats right from your device.

Horizon-Passport

Passport Ready

The Passport feature lets you connect your treadmill to your television. The highly innovative Virtual Active technology allows you to recreate an amazing outdoor running experience right from your home.

You can watch HD footage of beautiful landscapes from around the world on your TV. The treadmill adjusts its speed and intensity automatically to simulate the landscape displayed on the screen. All your workout data are displayed on the screen as well, so you can enjoy the scenery without having to look down at the console.

Variable Cushioning System

The deck has three zones – the landing zone, the push-off zone, and the transition zone. The landing zone, at the front end, is where your foot lands. So, it has a lot of cushioning for maximum impact reduction. The push-off zone, at the back end, is where you push off with your feet to gain momentum for your stride. So, it has minimal cushioning and is a lot firmer than the landing zone. The transition zone, which is in the middle, has moderate cushioning.

0 – 12% Incline Range

The Adventure 5 inclines up to 12%, which increases your heart rate, speeds up your metabolism, and stimulates a wide range of muscles in your body.

Easily Foldable

The treadmill employs a one-step hydraulic system, which allows you to lift the deck effortlessly and fold up the treadmill.

Energy Saver Mode

The console goes into sleep mode automatically if it is inactive for more than 15 minutes.

Additional Features

Just like the Adventure 3, the Adventure 5 comes with a built-in sound system, tablet rack, bottle holder, and contact grips to measure your heart rate.
