ProForm Treadmill Reviews - 2022 ProForm Pro 2000ProForm treadmills are extremely popular for two main reasons: features and price. For the money, you simply can’t find another brand with as many extras as ProForm offers, even on their entry level machines.

The brand is part of the large ICON Health and Fitness group, which also makes NordicTrack, Healthrider, FreeMotion, Reebok, Weider, Weslo, Gold’s Gym and the patented iFIT workout technology.

At the beginning, ProForm sold only treadmills.A few years later, they added ellipticals, HIIT trainers, exercise bikes, rowing machines and strength equipment to their lineup, all for residential use.

If you want to see all of the latest models available on sale now, just follow that link to the ProForm site where all of their current treadmills are featured at special discount prices.

Let’s take a closer look at the ProForm lineup…

ProForm Treadmill Reviews – A Look at the Current Models

There are currently three different series to choose from: City, Pro and Carbon. Within each series are two or three treadmills models.

City Series

This is one of the newer ProForm releases, with currently one model: the City L6. This is perfect for those with limited space in their workout areas.

The City L6 is super compact, with a 17.5″ x 45″ running area, up to 8 mph speed and a 1.6 CHP Mach Z motor. It includes iFit free for thirty days so you can check out all of the diverse workout options.

The previous entry level series, consisting of the base 400i, mid level 600i and new top-of-the-line 800i, seems to no longer be available.

Pro Series

This is the most popular and also the most advanced series, consisting of three treadmills: the Pro 2000 and the popular top of the line Pro 9000. The mid-range Pro 5000 treadmill was recently discontinued.

You get up to a 4.0 CHP motor, large 22″ x 60″ decks, incline as well as decline capability, optional wireless heart rate monitor and the most workouts of all of the models.

Carbon Series

These are also relatively new ProForm treadmills, first introduced in Spring of 2020. You have the Carbon T7, and the up-level Carbon T10 which comes for free with a 3-year iFit family membership.

The Carbon Series treadmills have up to 12% incline, Smart HD touch screens and grip heart rate. Functionality wise they sit right between the entry level Performance treadmills and the top of the line Pro treadmills.

So as you move up from the City to the Carbon to the Pro Series you get more features and more capabilities.

What Makes ProForm Treadmills So Popular?

ProForm has stepped it up in quality significantly over the last few years, yet have kept their prices very competitive.

They compete with NordicTrack, their sister company, as well as Horizon and Sole, but people tend to like them more because they feature the iFit technology only currently available on ICON brand treadmills.

Users really appreciate the fact that ProForm packs so much into their machines without jacking up the price like many companies do.

Let’s take a look at some of the main strengths…

Very Affordable

The entry level City L6 is only $699-$799 on sale, the Carbon T10 is free with 3 years of iFit membership, and most of the lineup is under $2,000. As such there are plenty of choices for those looking for a high quality treadmill without breaking the bank.

Workout Variety

In general, all ICON Fitness treadmills come with a lot of built in workouts, ProForm included. Additionally, you have the option to use the iFit compatibility, which gives access to an endless library of on-demand, professional trainer-designed workouts that can also be personalized.

Folding Option with Easy Lift Assist

All new ProForm treadmills have SpaceSaver design with Easy Lift Assist, which makes folding much easier now than it was just a few years ago. Now the folding can be done by one person with the touch of a button. Just a few years ago 2 people were needed.

Strong Warranty

You now receive a much better warranty for parts and labor. For some models, you get up to 5 years for parts and 2 years for labor. The minimum you receive is 1 year for parts and labor, and this applies to the entry level treadmills as well.

ProForm Treadmill Buying Tips

1. If you’re interested in buying a ProForm treadmill, your best bet is the official ProForm site as they typically have the best deals as well as special monthly sales that you can take advantage of. Plus, models change often so you can see all of the current offerings and figure out which one works best for you.

2. If you’re looking in the $600 to $2000 range, ProForm offers a lot of great choices with a lot of features and capabilities for the money. Also take a look at NordicTrack and Horizon in this category.

3. The Pro series models offer decline capability, so if that is something that appeals to you make sure you check those out. That series also has larger belts and stronger motors.

Here’s a little overview to help you find the best one for your home gym…
