Editor's Rating:

Overview
The ProForm Performance 600i treadmill is a popular model with a nice array of features, including a durable motor, a nice-sized cushioned deck, incline capability and SpaceSaver design.
It is very similar to the Sport 7.5, sharing almost all of the same specs, and a nice upgrade to the Performance 400i, the base model in the company’s lineup.

Enhanced Display Info
The ProForm Performance 600i features the Round Watts display which shows you exactly what power zone you are in while training.
Endurance is slow and steady, Tempo is your heart rate zone and Peak is your cardio max. So you keep yourself in your ideal heart rate zone over the course of your workout.
You can access the iFit Coach as well via your smart phone or tablet which gives you a host of additional workouts, personalized nutrition information, tracking as well as Google maps to run anywhere worldwide.
Heart Rate Readings
There are two grip sensors where you can get your heart rate reading at any point during your workout.
Diverse Workouts
The Performance 600i has 22 onboard workouts, including 4 calorie workouts, 4 interval workouts, 4 speed and 4 endurance workouts.
When you want to use one of these workouts, press Calorie, Interval, Speed or Endure repeatedly and press Enter. The displays will then show you max incline, duration, distance, max speed and the name of the workout. Also, you’ll have the approximate no of calories for Calorie workouts.
Press Start or Speed increase. Alter incline and speed by pressing the Incline and Speed buttons. Use the displays for monitoring your progress and check out your heart rate when needed. You have a fan you can turn on anytime you need to cool off.
For iFit workouts, create your account and use the iFit buttons.
Use your User profile. You can navigate between users in the iFit Live main screen. To select the workout, press one of the iFit Live buttons. Make a workout queue prior to starting the program of your choice.
Press My Trainer, My Maps, World Tour or Event Training to download the next workout. Use Compete button to compete in a race that you’ve scheduled previously. Some workouts are joined by audio coaching.

I am 56 years old and have recently been told I have Type 2 diabetes. I am looking for an entry level machine to use at home. I am 6’3″ and currently weigh around the 325 to 330. I am not as interested in the running as I am in the 30 to 40 minute walks to help with my diet to lose some pounds. I have looked at this Pro Form 600 and the Nordic Track C900. I know that both are made by Icon is either one a good purchase for my needs or is there something else I should look at. Budget is up to $1000.
@Larry, Thank you for the comment. Your treadmill search is based on motor power, supported user weight and price. Nordictrack C900 is a good treadmill and if you decide to go with this one, you should be able to complete 30-40 minutes of walking. The closest alternative we can recommend is the Livestrong LS10. It is $999 in sale now. It has a slightly shorter belt, but it’s a reliable brand and this is a sturdy treadmill. If you need more help to decide, don’t hesitate to contact us.
