Spirit Fitness is a brand under DYACO, a corporation that also owns Sole Fitness, Xterra and Fuel. DYACO has a worldwide distribution network in North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and even Oceania.
Spirit created their first fitness products in 1983, and the first treadmill in 1987. Customers have loved their products from the beginning because they have always known how to show consideration for their needs.
In their catalog you will find fitness bikes, ellipticals, e-glides and treadmills for both home and commercial use.
Reviews:
We started to review Spirit treadmills way back in 2011 at our readers’ recommendation. We had heard many praiseworthy things about their products before, but we were not sure if they were worth our attention. Our experience proved we were wrong to doubt them because Spirit is indeed one of the strongest competitors in the $1,000 – $2,000 price range.
Although they offer treadmills for residential and commercial use, we noticed that the commercial range is more fit for light use (like in an office, rather than in a gym).
Strengths
Residential Warranty:
The most notable strength is the warranty offered. We can confirm that the warranty for the superior range (like Spirit XT 485 and XT 685 is the best you can find, and this tells a lot about the products they sell. On residential treadmills you receive 10 years for parts.
Muscle Group Activation Feature:
This is the coolest feature ever added to a treadmill, and extremely useful. While you exercise, the console highlights the group muscles you are using, and how intensive.
Heart Rate Profile:
The console lists on the console the % of your Target Heart Rate, calculated based on your projected heart rate for your gender, age and sex. This is an extremely helpful tool for those who want to complete cardio workouts correctly, and keep the exercise intensity in their personal target heart rate.
Weaknesses
Limited Supported User Weight to 300 lbs. on most models.
No Interactive Features
Spirit hasn’t developed any interactive feature that would allow users to forward their workout results online. We like having such options on our treadmills.
